Payment21®'s Instant eCheck™ works for clearing check payments in USD using both financial transaction standards: ACH and Check 21. Payment21® Check 21 Processing provides the latest technological solution for clearing substitute check images over the Internet.

Our proprietary solution allows your website to accept check payments. This payment method works instantly over the Web with no need for the customer to mail in a paper check. With our Application Program Interface (API), your website is automatically connected to Payment21®'s Check 21 Processing. After selecting products or services on your website and choosing to pay by check, customers enter their checking account details online, agree to the purchase total and authorize the payment via an online check. Submitting the Instant eCheck™ triggers the details through our customizable Verification Loop™ and proprietary Mitigation Monitor™. As soon as the transaction is approved, Payment21® immediately creates a check image of the Instant eCheck™ and directly transfers the digital check to the bank for deposit. Your customer's "pay by check" orders can be cleared with the U.S. Federal Reserve System within a single day! This means your ebusiness enterprise can accept U.S. checks anywhere in the world and Payment21® Check 21 Processing can automatically submit and clear these transactions online.

Payment21® Check 21 Processing offers two different options 

Payment21® Images - Fully automated Instant eCheck™ processing system

This product is very much the same as Payment21® Print but the printing step is eliminated. Instead, Payment21® Check 21 Processing generates substitute check images, verifies account details in real time with fraud prevention services, then prints the items on the fly, and finally clears and settles these U.S. check transactions on behalf of merchants.

Payment21® Print - Capture of Checks plus Remote Secure Printing 

This product is aimed at merchants who already have an established bulk check deposit relationship with their bank, with perhaps even a method of scanning checks and sending mail-in checks electronically. Our product streamlines your existing process by allowing your customers to enter their check details online rather than mailing in checks via the post. For each transaction, Payment21® captures the check details directly over the Web and queues the check for printing on check paper at your office. Verification of account data is available upon request.

A general process of this service is:

Step 1: Customers select products and add them to merchant's website shopping cart.

Step 2: Customers proceed to Check-out page.

Step 3: Customers register or login to their account.

Step 4: Customers enter or confirm their personal details including:

• First and last name
• Billing address
• Out-of-wallet security question such as the last 4 digits of their social security number

Step 5: Customers are requested to enter the following information on the Cashier-page:

• Bank routing number
• Bank account number
• A valid check number taken from their check book

Step 6: Merchant sends the entered checking information along with the customer details over a secure connection to Payment21® (established by API).

Step 7: Payment21® verifies the customer banking details via our customizable Verification Loop™ to ensure that the account exists and that there is a positive balance.

Step 8: Merchant then sends the check with a confirmation of positive validation to the queue waiting to be processed.

Step 9:  You, as a merchant, can securely login into the check-printing page on Payment21®, select the checks for printing and print these checks with your own printer.
